The standard for rotor blade sensing


The fos4Blade sensor platform is a modular platform for fiber-optic sensors in rotor blades. The fiber optic measuring device in the hub emits light to all connected sensors and evaluates the backlighting of the sensors.


The standard arrangement is characterized by particularly good cost efficiency: The bending moments and the oscillation behavior of the rotor blade can be determined with 3 strain sensors in the blade root and 2 vibration sensors. In this arrangement, a particularly high degree of precision and availability is achieved.


fos4Blade is designed as an open sensor platform. The measuring system has a fieldbus interface (CANopen, PROFINET etc.) and supports the relevant IIoT protocols (OPC-UA, DDS).
