fos4X has shipped the first fiber optic load measurement system (Turbine Load Control – TLC) to its new Chinese customer Shanghai Electric Wind Power Co., Ltd. The increasing importance of rotor blade sensing for cost reductions of the next turbine generation is also picking up speed in China.
The Qualification of Turbine Load Control
fos4X Turbine Load Control will be one of the key parts of the active load control system to support Shanghai Electric‘s offshore and “back to north China strategy”. With the active load control capabilities supported by fos4X TLC, Shanghai Electric will compete at Northern China with its large rotor diameter turbine offering a very competitive product in terms of CoE.
Shanghai Electric is also initiating a project to evaluate fos4X rotor blade vibration sensors for blade health monitoring and rotor ice detection.
