Robert Erdmann joins the management team of fos4X
Munich, May 22, 2018 – Robert Erdmann joined the management team at fos4X as CDO in May 2018. In the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer, Robert Erdmann will now massively advance the digital business at fos4X and develop new applications to optimize the wind industry.
With fos4X into the digital age of the wind industry
The fos4Blade sensor platform forms the basis of all current and future series products from fos4X. This is a modular system, which consists of fiber optic sensors and a measuring device for recording and processing the obtained data.
„With the series integration and retrofitting of our sensors in wind turbines all over the world, we have taken an important step. Now is the time to use the collected data more efficiently to usher in the digital age of the wind industry. This is my mission at fos4X.“
says Robert Erdmann, CDO of fos4X.
Currently, the obtained data are used to optimize wind turbines with established and field-proven applications such as blade load measurement, structural health monitoring or ice detection. In the future, fos4X plans not only to consider individual turbines but also to optimize entire wind farms.
Robert Erdmann continues:
„A wind farm should not be seen as a collection of individual turbines, but rather the entire park must be understood as a large power plant. This power plant needs to be optimized, and I see considerable potential here.“
