On the 13th February and 14th February 2018 the 10th Wind O&M EU Conference will take place in Munich and fos4X will support the event with an exciting presentation and the sponsoring of the coffee break on the second day of the conference.
In the presentation on Wednesday, 14th February from 10:10 am to 10:20 am, our colleague David Händel presents valuable insights in rotor blade sensing and describes the optimization potential for wind assets.
“In my presentation, I am pleased to announce and discuss the advantages of fiber-optic sensor technology and our field experience based on numerous applications in the field of rotor blade measurements!”
Says David Händel, Key Account Manager at fos4X.
In addition, we show why the use of fiber optic sensors is the right choice for measurements in the rotor blade and provide insights into three of our applications for optimizing the operation of wind turbines.
Rotor Ice Control
Rotor Ice Control is the fos4X solution for ice detection directly on the rotor blade of wind turbines and has already been installed at more than 250 plants worldwide. With fiber-optic acceleration sensors, ice masses on the rotor blades are precisely detected, and automatic restarting of the systems without time-intensive visual inspection reduces downtime.
Turbine Integrity Control
Turbine Integrity Control is the fos4X solution for structural monitoring (condition monitoring) of the rotor blades of wind turbines to detect damage at an early stage to minimize their financial impact. In addition, the condition monitoring system helps to reduce costs and downtimes by maintenance planning.
Turbine Load Control
Turbine Load Control is the fos4X solution for load measurement on the rotor blades of wind turbines to avoid overloading or to optimally align the turbine with the wind. As a result, the life-time of the system can be extended and a more accurate estimate of the remaining life-time can be achieved.
